COME FOR SUPPER
First Lutheran is assisting with Come for Supper on Tuesday, May 22, at Our Savior’s in La Crosse. First Lutheran will help with food donations and volunteering to serve and clean up. The sign-up sheets are at the Welcome Center. Call Gloria Kubiak if you have questions, 608.498.2762.
OWLs Fly to Amish Tour around Lanesboro
The OWLs, a group for those 55+, have rescheduled their May potluck to Wed., May 23 at noon in the narthex. The program will be a fun and spirited competition with some of our favorite games and additional new ones. On Fri., May 25, the OWLs will fly to Lanesboro for a bus tour of Amish farms and craftsmen. Following the tour, they will have lunch at a local establishment. Meet at the church at 8:30am, returning about 3:30pm. Cost: $30 (lunch on your own). RSVP to Brian Narveson at owls@firstlu.org.
Confirmation Celebration
May 23, 6:30pm at Rowe Park, shelter #1 This event is for all confirmation students, small-group guides and parents. We will have a cook-out to celebrate all the hard work the students put in this year! We will close the evening with a special worship, led by the students!

Baptismal Preparation

Confirmation Camp at Sugar Creek
Sunday, June 10–Friday, June 15. For kids going into grade 8. Our upcoming confirmation students get a chance to start their confirmation journey in the beautiful valley of Sugar Creek. We will learn in faith together while we do Bible study, horseback riding, hiking, swimming, campfires, and so much more! Questions? Contact Pastor Karyn, karyn@firstlu.org.
Wisconsin Dells
Families of First are invited to Noah’s Ark in Wisconsin Dells. We will be going as a group on FRIDAY, June 15 (not on Saturday, as printed in the newsletter). The park is open from 10am-6pm. Cost: $16, includes hot dog lunch. Katie Everson has volunteered to lead this event for 2018.RSVP to Beth Miller: beth@firstlu.org.

Sugar Creek Explorer Day
For children entering grades 1–5, on Wednesday, June 27, 7:30am-4:15pm. Why? Experience a day at Sugar Creek (a parent is welcome/preferred)! How: Carpool/van/bus from First Lutheran! Additional info: wear tennis shoes and bring swim suit and towel. Snacks, lunch and water are provided! Cost: $20. RSVP to beth@firstlu.org.
Parking Lot Ministry
This new ministry needs warm and friendly faces to greet guests and worshipers who come into the parking lot, giving help if needed at the entrance door and giving umbrellas to those who need one when it’s raining. Come to the Welcome Center to receive more information and sign up to help.
Nursery Attendants
First Lutheran is seeking part-time nursery attendants. Nursery kids range from newborn through 4 years. The position is paid. Inquire in the office, call 608.783.2236 or e-mail us at office@firstlu.org.
Clothes Closet Needs
This month’s most needed: Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash and toothpaste), athletic shorts (men’s and women’s in all sizes), casual shorts in XS and S sizes for guys (27/28 inch waist), gently used athletic shoes.
